“Life in the Rear-View Mirror” Online Memoir Writing Workshop with Dianne Miller

November 7 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Memoir Writing Workshop: “Life in the Rear-View Mirror”
Saturday, November 7, 2020, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m via ZOOM
Hosted by Dianne Miller, author of Chalk Dust – Memoir of a Prairie Teacher
Dianne will introduce you to the satisfying process of recording and sharing written snapshots of life. A memoir, unlike a chronological autobiography, focuses on one memorable event or person
that has had emotional significance for you. You’ll discuss principles of memoir writing, memory prompts, themes, or life lessons to illustrate through memoir, and, briefly, the writing process itself. You’ll have the opportunity to try your hand at composing and sharing a short piece from your life story.
Dianne Miller is a retired teacher/administrator living in Swift Current. Since retirement, she’s written mostly short fiction including some historical fiction but was attracted to memoir as a means of tracing the societal and educational changes she experienced as a student, teacher, and administrator.
To register, please call the Swift Current Branch Library at (306) 778-2752 or email sc@chinook.lib.sk.ca
The class size is limited to 15. ZOOM details will be forwarded to registrants.
