7pm Truth and Reconciliation: Let’s Walk the Talk with Elder Noel Starblanket
March 14, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
In recognition of Canada’s 150th Anniversary, the Southwest Multicultural Association and its partners are holding an evening of storytelling and sharing the history of residential schools and the experiences of its survivors. Elder Noel Starblanket from Star Blanket Cree Nation, survivor of residential schools, will be at the Swift Current Branch Library on Tuesday, March 14 at 7 pm to share his stories. This storytelling session will help people to get a better understanding of the history of residential schools and will be an opportunity to have a face to face chat with a residential school survivor. The Southwest Multicultural Association is dedicated to reconciliation and prosperity for all Canadians and it can only happen if we are ready to work together. This event will help to facilitate the process. Please join us, learn, and contribute. All are welcome. Coffee and refreshments will be served.
