Important information about library changes in September

The library will be migrating to a new software system from September 17 to 25

  • Not all of our resources will be available to you at that time.

  • The Swift Current Branch Library will remain open, and you will still be able to borrow material in person.

  • You will not be able to place holds on physical materials (books, DVDs, etc.) from the online catalogue.

  • Sign up for e-collections! Register at your nearest library to obtain a personal identification number (PIN) so you can access our online collections during this time.

  • Materials due dates will be extended to October 4, so you can enjoy a longer reading period. In fact, this is one of the rare times we are asking you not to return your material early, so please keep your materials until October 4.

  • You’ll still be able to search and view materials in the province-wide catalogue, but you can’t place holds or view holdings on items during that time. Feel free to place holds and view holdings until 9 p.m. on September 17. Holds will be transferred to the new system, although there may be some delays.

  •  The new system will look different, but will operate in relatively the same manner as the old one.

  • Your personal identification number (PIN) will not migrate to our new system. Your PIN will be changed to the last four digits of your phone number. You are welcome to change it to something else after September 25.

  • We’ll be sure to inform you of any other changes that might affect you.

  •  Thank you for your patience as we migrate to our software system.
